So I’ve decided to move to Los Angeles, California. Sounds easy right? A simple straightforward decision. But let me tell you. A lot of tears, fears, and stress came with that decision. Don’t get me wrong, I very much look forward to sunny SoCal living, but that means I must say goodbye to all my childhood friends and loved ones here in New York. Leaving your comfort zone is never easy and getting used to an entirely new environment is tough, but I’m told it gets better over time. I guess the beginning is always the hardest part?
Why am I moving to Los Angeles, when I love New York so much? My mom is moving over from Taiwan and I haven’t lived with her since I was twelve years old. As much as I’m used to (and prefer) living independently, I don’t want to live with regret later on. I feel like a lot of people of this generation leave their parents too soon, regardless of the situation. Of course, I’m not saying it’s bad, to each their own, but personally, I know I can’t be satisfied with myself if I miss this opportunity to spend quality time with my mom.
Now that that’s out of the way, here’s my last photoshoot on the east coast at Brooklyn Bridge Park in Dumbo, Brooklyn. This is definitely one of my favorite places to shoot in NYC, so if you happen to be visiting the Big Apple, I highly recommend stopping by here to take a few snaps! (And enjoy the phenomenal pizza!)
