Boyfriend jeans? I love them. Yes, they can be a bit big and masculine, but if styled right they can be the most comfortable, laidback but still on-point piece in your closet! You can dress them up, like I did here, with a tight fitted top and strappy heels or just pair it with a basic tee, white converse, throw on a moto jacket and call it a day!
Another thing about a great pair of jeans is that if they are taken care of correctly, they can last! I remember buying this pair (I think they were called Tomgirl Jeans) from American Eagle Outfitters years ago, on Black Friday and they were just under $20! Under twenty bucks! What kind of jeans can you get for less than 20 bucks nowadays? (Stereotypical Asian here… gonna try to get all the best deals and will rant about it! Lol.)
In general, denim isn’t cheap and quite the investment, but since they are such a great wardrobe staple, they are worth the price as long as you take care of these expensive babies!
Anyway, I’ve had these for a while now and they still look pretty new (despite the distress, the more the better right?). I’ve heard all these things about washing them with vinegar and cold water, or tossing them in salt, or even dry cleaning them, but I honestly just soak them in cold water with a bit of detergent and hang dry them. And I don’t do that every time I wear them. (I know…eww. But as long as I don’t get food or stuff on them, a couple hours of wear shouldn’t be too gross, right?) I still throw them in the wash occasionally, but I definitely recommend washing them sparingly. How do you style your boyfriend jeans? And any tips on taking care of your denim?
